REDEFINITION STORMS OAU

At the Obafemi Awolowo University Ile-ife on the 9th of September, witnessed over 6000 students in Amphi theatre on Thursday.
The likes of DJ GOSPORELLA, NIKKY LAOYE, ROOFTOP MC, JAHDIEL, EBEN, KORE, LARA GEORGE, B.O.U.Q.U.I., SAMMIE OKPOSO, SPIRIT OF DAVID, SHAKE ‘EM UP, and some comedians performed on the show.
The campus show which was an initiative of BOUQUI and aimed at gaining campuses for Christ kicked off around 10pm with DJ GOSPORELLA mixing some gospel tunes, after which a comedian nicknamed SACO did hit the spotlight, also KORE opened the floor for the music session followed by JAHDIEL, NIKKY LAOYE, EBEN, ROOFTROP MC, LARA GEORGE, BOUQUI and SAMMIE OKPOSO. However, in-between their performances were those presentations by dance groups and other comedians.
Speaking with campuslife, BOUQUI said “We don’t do this for the money, we don’t do this for fame, and we do this to glorify our Lord Jesus Christ” in addition she made an altar call for people to give their lives to Christ. She then prayed for students who gave their lives to Christ. Thereafter, she continued her musical ministration, in her concluding part she called on stage Sammie Okposo that was welcomed by a loud applaud from the students. The programme ended around 5.00am.
Speaking with Ayodele Ajibade, a 300 level student of Environmental Design and Management, he said, ‘The programme afforded us the opportunity to praise God and as well get entertained. A lot of non Christians came and they gat the got converted. The mere fact that the gate fee of a programme of this calibre is free, despite all the money invested into it reminds one of the early missionaries who made education free of cost in order to preach the gospel of Christ. Unlike these 21st century churches who built schools that even their members cannot afford to pay their children through. It is terrible, you can’t preach to an hungry man, settle his needs or better still, preach to him the way he will give his life without compromising your faith.
